Fletches and Fletched Arrows.

FletchIn simple and plain explanation, to fletch is to glue a feather or vane to an arrow shaft. The art of fletching is done in order to aerodynamically stabilize the arrow on its flight once it is released. These fletches are attached at the butt-end of the projectile, to stabilize its flight, despite of air resistance. Also, some fletches have something to do and highly affects the spin of the arrow once it is released.

The one whose job is to fletch is called a fletcher. Although a fletcher's work is not limited to that, since he is the one who generally builds and creates arrows from scratch. During the medieval era where bows and arrows are still the main weapons of war, fletcher serves a very important role since their creations are the main advantage and means towards a tribe’s victory.
