Nocks can be seen of different forms. It can be a simple cut found at the end of the arrow, or it can be a separate piece attached to the arrow shaft, next to the fletching. |

Nock is usually made from plastic and is glued at the rear of the arrow. It can also be made out of wood or even horn. Nocks come in different sizes, depending on the type of arrow, like its diameter or thickness. |

An arrow nock is the notch attached at the rear of the arrow and is primarily designed to fit around the bowstring and to hold the arrow in place while it is positioned for release. With a nock, the arrow will be steadier and will not slip off once it is getting readied for a shot.
